Royden Oaks Revival

Located in Houston’s Royden Oaks neighborhood, this long-held family home was selectively updated by Jackson Warren after the owners chose to stay and upgrade rather than relocate. Engaged to oversee key spaces—including the kitchen, bar, powder room, and primary bath—the firm approached the project as a targeted renovation, refining the home without disrupting its overall architecture.

The challenge was to introduce a lighter, more contemporary sensibility within an existing Mediterranean framework. In the kitchen, a new layout was built around a black La Cornue range, with updated cabinetry and a brass-footed island bringing contrast and structure. Elsewhere, moments of character drive the design—a bar finished in Geddy Gray with brass mesh fronts and an antique mirror backsplash, and a primary bath detailed with furniture-like cabinetry and hand-worked stone.

The home feels refreshed but cohesive—where new interventions are intentional, and the original character remains intact.
