Oak Forest Reno

Built in 1950 and purchased as a true fixer-upper, this Houston home was renovated in two intentional phases as designer Kiley Jackson’s personal residence. The kitchen and bath were taken down to the studs, followed by a second pass that raised ceiling heights from eight to ten feet, dramatically improving light and livability within the existing footprint. Much of the work was completed hands-on, reflecting a practical, measured approach to renovation.
The interiors follow the same logic: a collected mix of high and low, vintage pieces, and personal objects layered over time. Original floors were preserved and refinished, while selective updates—like added shiplap—introduce warmth without excess. Throughout, the emphasis remains on editing over adding, allowing meaningful pieces to carry the space.
