River Oaks Townhome

Located in Houston’s River Oaks district, this 6,000-square-foot townhome was designed as a “lock-and-leave” retreat for empty nesters transitioning from a more traditional family home. Jackson Warren was engaged to rework the interiors holistically—adapting the space to a more flexible, low-maintenance lifestyle while integrating the clients’ existing collection.
Rather than starting from scratch, the design builds on what the clients already owned, layering antiques and collected pieces with more contemporary furnishings and art. Traditional elements—Fortuny textiles, antique rugs, tailored upholstery—are offset by unexpected moments, including bold contemporary artwork and sculptural forms. The result is a more relaxed, expressive take on a classic interior, where contrast is intentional and nothing feels overly matched.
“The home ultimately reflects a shift in how the clients live: lighter, more personal, and designed to evolve over time—balancing familiarity with a sharper, more modern point of view. Kiley Jackson and Aileen Warren, co-founders of Jackson Warren Interiors, stepped in, turning a potentially overwhelming downsize into a methodical and liberating process with stunning results.”
