Situated on 140 acres outside Round Top, Texas, this late-19th-century farmhouse was refreshed as a weekend retreat for a multi-generational family. Working within the existing structure, the focus was on refining the home to better support large, frequent family gatherings.
Original paneling, longleaf pine floors, and timeworn details were preserved and softened through a restrained palette and thoughtful edits. Furnishings prioritize scale and durability—generous seating, layered textures, and materials that improve with use. A mix of inherited pieces, custom upholstery, and locally sourced vintage finds gives the home a sense of continuity.
In the end, the house is designed to be used—one that comfortably absorbs a full house on the weekends and settles back into quiet during the week.
“A caravan of city folk descends on this charming farmhouse almost every Friday evening, all eager for some slowdown time surrounded by family. No worries—the house is designed to accommodate.”
